Sophie Myles’s (b.2004) practice focuses on, use of state power, inequality and methods of control; They attempt to highlight this via the visual language of reportage and seek to distort and question its means of visual representation. This focus comes from their background in politics and training in qualitative research methods.



They are currently working on the project, signal to the marade, focusing on asylum seekers attempting to cross the English Channel, and link bordering infrastructure.



Further they have previously worked on, the projects ‘I love you jesus christ’ focused on 1st and 2nd generation immigrant youth in portugal, as well as ‘im living here’ a project about student housing.


Their practice is based in documentary photography,  activism, and social change.
